I am Udu Ada Azubuike, and I’ve always believed in the power of education to transform lives. However, receiving the Maltina Teacher of the Year competition title in 2025 was not just a personal honour—it was a powerful validation of the incredible work we are doing through our partnership with Whisper to Humanity.
Whisper’s “Playful Learning Project” has been the ultimate catalyst for change in my classroom and in my own approach to teaching. The Spark of Transformation
Before Whisper, my teaching, though passionate, was rooted in a traditional, teacher-centered model. But the resources they provided—specifically the donated texts and play instruments—triggered a fundamental shift.
The results in my classroom have been nothing short of transformative. These simple, yet powerful, tools have given my students the surest method for developing critical thinking skills and achieving an easy, deep understanding of their lessons. Learning is no longer a chore; it is an engaging, playful exploration. Building a New Philosophy!
Working with Whisper to Humanity was like a trigger for me personally, forcing me to redress my methodology. I have moved away from being the sole source of knowledge and embraced a truly student-centered approach.
As a teacher, I have learned to approach my students not as a disciplinarian, but as a compassionate guide. This partnership has helped build in me an entirely new teaching philosophy rooted in deep empathy and understanding of my students’ comprehensive needs. Now, I don’t just teach the curriculum; I advocate for my community and stand as a witness to the profound, measurable impact an NGO like Whisper can have.
Thank you, Whisper to Humanity, for choosing to partner with teachers in this vital quest for change in education. Together, we are turning resilient passion into tangible success stories.
