With a heart full of gratitude, I want to use this platform to say a very big thank you to Whisper to Humanity. Before this journey began, I was just another adolescent girl in a public secondary school here in Ebonyi State, and honestly, the world often felt difficult. We imagined a world where adolecents like myself didn’t know their rights and were easily misled or abused, and sometimes, that world felt too close to home. But through the help of Whisper to Humanity (WTH), that scale has been removed from our eyes.
I am proud to say I am a living testimony. Through the Transformative Education Project, WTH gave us platforms not just to learn, but to lead.
From Fear to Feminist Club
Before WTH, school could feel unmotivating and, sometimes, unsafe. We lacked opportunities for creative expression, and serious conversations about improving our environment rarely included our input. But when I joined the Whisper Feminist School Club, everything changed. We learned about leadership, advocacy, and our rights—skills that helped transform me from a quiet student to a bold change agent. Today, I am the assistant coordinator of the Whisper School Club in my school, Nnodo Secondary School.

The club introduced us to playful learning, which made critical thinking feel like fun. I had the amazing chance to participate with my peers in the Whisper annual spell heritage contest, competing fiercely in games like Scrabble, Chess, and the financial literacy game, The Whisperer. It was more than a contest; it was a chance to see my potential and build collaboration skills.
Stepping Up to Speak
WTH didn’t just teach us; they gave us a megaphone. I was one of the students selected to speak on the radio sessions of the “Whisper Half Hour,” where we addressed challenges in our schools and advocated for solutions in real time. Speaking live to thousands of listeners, including parents and community members, was terrifying, but it was also incredibly empowering. I realized my voice had power, and people were listening.

The most powerful moment of advocacy came when I got to join conversations in the Ministry of Justice, Ebonyi State, sharing my vision of a dream school free from abuse. This was during the presentation of the VAPP (Violence Against Persons Prohibition) strategy document—a roadmap WTH co-created to hold duty bearers accountable for our safety. Standing there, advocating for institutional protection and a safer learning environment, I felt relief. I knew we were moving from just hoping for change to actively changing things.
Celebrating Our Collective Power

Whisper is all about playful learning! I was part of the team that got to dance with my peers in the national event celebrating Whisper’s 5 years anniversary. That moment of joy and collective celebration, dancing alongside other adolescents who are committed to dignity and equality, reminded me of the solidarity and sisterhood that the club has created. It reminded me that my generation is set to do better.
Because of the bold advocacy led by students like me, we have seen real change in Education in Ebonyi State, and we are so proud of ourselves.
Thank you, to my School, the teachers of Nnodo Secondary School, especially Aunty Precious for her patience and dedication and to Ms Mary Jacob Okwuosa and her entire team at Whisper To Humanity. I pray that the Almighty God will continue to bless you and give you more insight, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
You have not only transformed my life but have helped establish a sustainable, policy-backed, and community-owned education system where girls are now leaders and co-creators of change.
